The WIV does not believe in seeking accreditation or a
charter because the Varsity maintains very high standards in
awarding their Vocational Diploma sin conjunction with Degrees
awarding Universities. By seeking the accreditation and royal
charter, it would only increase the assessing and examining
fees and it will make the original concept of Prof. Ralph J
Thomas unaffordable to the prospective candidates. The Varsity
is a privately funded independent further vocational
educational establishment and does not receive any funding
from any government sources unlike all State Universities,
which are subsidised by the respective Governments. It is
therefore necessary for them to be recognised by their funding
bodies. WIV rather seeks recognition from Professional Bodies,
Further Higher Educational Institutions, Non Governmental,
Semi Governmental and Employers for their respective
candidates. As the WIV is a vocational awarding body on its
own right by the constitution of Memorandum of Article, it
focuses and gives priorities for hands-on programmes with
practical and work oriented schemes.
WIV’s Board of Academics are satisfied with the Bench
Marking concept of UK-CCL and the Quality Mark of UK-CCL
QMS5001:2005. Therefore, WIV will not be seeking for any
further validation from any other institutions.
Introduction
Unlike many traditional education systems, our role is not
simply that of classroom oriented training. Rather, we strive
to provide quality learning that is related to the cutting
edge of research, industry and management practice. We
translate our wide range of experience of working with
management teams, into a learning experience that matches your
expectations of a premier training establishment.
The opportunities WIV provides for individuals to progress
in higher education at all levels of study including
postgraduate programmes offered by the Affiliated Universities
and Professional Membership with recognised Professional
Bodies. Learning can be certified, but most of the learning at
work, home or in the community often is not. Taking this into
account, WIV has developed a methodology called Accreditation
of Career Progress Development (ACPD) by helping candidates to
recognise have they learnt and acquired and by offering credit
units towards a professional degree.
