The WIV recognises the importance of theory and practice,
which has great influence in Education, Training and
Professional Development. Based on this philosophy, the
Varsity has designed study programmes to recognise and to
award credit units for prior learning, work experience and
knowledge. This will enable applicants to accumulate credit
units towards their Academic Achievements, Assignments,
Training including In-House and Work-Shops and completed
Correspondence Courses. This will reduce the time taken to
complete the appropriate Degree Programmes.
Any candidate who does not possess sufficient credit units
in obtaining the Professional Degree Qualifications, can
achieve his/her goal by distance learning courses or attending
seminars and trainings conducted by the Varsity's Study Plan,
which in turn will enable the candidates to obtain the
Professional and Vocational Degrees awarded by the Associate
Members of UK Commission for Consistent Learning, who by their
right are authorised to award the Professional Degree
qualifications that they may deem fit.
WIV only awards the Work Oriented Professional & Vocational
Degree Programmes to Mature Candidates, who have missed the
opportunity to gain the Academic Degree Qualifications. To
this end all candidates will be Examined and Assessed in the
following four important stages.
1) Assignments
2) Locally held Workshops and Seminars
3) A Work Based Project / Dissertation.
4) An Oral Examination.
Submission of Assignments/Dissertation will gain 50%
Credits; Attending Workshops/Seminars will gain 20% Credits
and attending the Oral Examination will gain 30% Credits. To
gain the Work Oriented Professional Degree Qualification, the
Candidate must have a minimum of 80% Credits and must have
held a Senior Management Position for a minimum period of
Three Years in the respective field of employment.
